who we are

tidy. is a Washington, DC-based booking service that connects busy households with vetted independent cleaners. We are the dispatcher and payment processor; cleaners perform the work as independent contractors.

booking & payment

When you place a booking, your card is authorized for the quoted total and the charge is finalized after the cleaning is complete. Prices include all service fees; taxes are settled at checkout. By booking you confirm the address, time, and home details you provided are accurate.

cancellation & refunds

We hold time on a real human's calendar. Our policy:
  • more than 24 hours before your slot — full refund, no questions.
  • within 24 hours — 50% refund.
  • same-day (under 4 hours) or no-show — no refund.
If we can't staff your booking, you receive a full refund automatically.

quality guarantee

If something isn't right, tell us within 24 hours of the clean and we'll send someone back to make it right at no charge, or refund the affected portion.

access & safety

You're responsible for providing safe access (keys, codes, doormen) and a safe environment. We can't move heavy furniture, handle bio-hazards, or clean homes with active pest infestations.

liability

We carry insurance for damage caused by negligence during a cleaning. Claims must be reported within 48 hours. We are not liable for pre-existing damage, normal wear, or items not visible to the cleaner.
